Thermal Performance Assessment of Lightweight Aggregate Concrete by Different Test Methods

Structural lightweight aggregate concrete is currently an alternative to normal-weight when thermal insulation properties are required meet the objectives of energy efficiency and sustainability. The accurate evaluation performance thus essential for designing structural elements. This paper aims evaluate behavior concrete, assessed through different tests methods. To this end, a vast experimental campaign was carried out involving specimens produced with several types water/cement ratios. established by conductivity, which determined according modified transient pulse method quasi-stationary method, specific heat capacity, transfer method. Normal-weight also tested comparison purposes. Experimental evidence showed that concretes lower density associated up about 50% conductivity higher capacity than concrete. Moreover, study demonstrated expeditious suitable assessing type both adequate determine capacity.
